Locality

In Glymp, a locality is a defined neighbourhood boundary within which Drops are active and location-verified. It corresponds to a specific urban area — such as Bandra, Juhu, or Andheri West — and determines which users can post Scenes and which users see a Drop's content. Only users physically inside the locality boundary during a Drop's window can participate.

The locality is the fundamental unit of Glymp's content geography. Glymp is rolling out neighbourhood by neighbourhood in Mumbai — each locality gets its own Drops, its own business listings, and its own community of users. This granularity is intentional: a Bandra Drop contains Scenes from Bandra, reviewed by people who live or spend time in Bandra, making the content hyper-relevant to anyone in or around that area.

The locality boundary is enforced through real-time location verification. When a Drop opens for a locality, only users whose device location falls within the defined boundary can post Scenes. This is why Glymp Scenes feel different from social media content — there is no way to fake being somewhere. If you posted, you were there.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a locality in Glymp?

A locality is a defined neighbourhood boundary used by Glymp to organise Drops, business listings, and community content. It typically corresponds to a recognised Mumbai neighbourhood such as Bandra, Juhu, or Powai. Drops are locality-specific — only users physically inside the boundary can post Scenes.

How does Glymp verify that a user is inside a locality?

Glymp uses real-time device location to verify that a user is physically inside a locality's geographic boundary. Users outside the boundary during an active Drop cannot post Scenes — there is no workaround or override.
