Community Guidelines
Last updated — April 2026
Welcome to Glymp! These Community Guidelines help keep our platform a safe, trustworthy, and enjoyable space for everyone — users and businesses alike. By using Glymp, you agree to follow these guidelines. Violations may result in content removal, account restrictions, or permanent bans.
Our guiding principle: Be honest, be respectful, be helpful.
1. Content Posting Rules
✅ What We Encourage
- Genuine photos and videos of stores, products, food, services, and local experiences.
- Honest reviews that reflect your real experience — both positive and constructive.
- Helpful tips and recommendations for other users.
- High-quality images that are well-lit, clear, and relevant.
- Tagging the correct store or product in your posts.
- Creating curated collections of your favorite places and products.
❌ What's Not Allowed
- Stock photos, watermarked images, or content you don't own.
- Screenshots of other platforms, random memes, or off-topic content.
- Blurry, unrecognizable, or deliberately misleading images.
- Content with visible personal information of others (phone numbers, addresses, IDs).
- AI-generated content presented as real photos or genuine experiences.
- Duplicate posts or content spammed across multiple listings.
2. Reviews and Ratings
✅ Authentic Reviews
- Share your genuine experience — what you liked, what could be better.
- Be specific: mention the product, service quality, pricing, or ambiance.
- Rate fairly — don't give 1 star because of a courier issue, or 5 stars for a place you haven't visited.
- Update your review if the business has improved or declined.
❌ Fake or Manipulated Reviews
- Posting reviews for places you haven't visited or products you haven't used.
- Writing reviews in exchange for payment, free products, or rewards (unless clearly disclosed).
- Asking friends or employees to post fake positive reviews for your business.
- Posting negative reviews to sabotage competitors.
- Using multiple accounts to inflate or deflate ratings.
- Copy-pasting the same review across multiple businesses.
We use automated detection and manual review to identify and remove fake reviews.
3. Spam and Self-Promotion
We want content to be helpful, not salesy.
Not Allowed:
- Mass-posting promotional content across unrelated listings.
- Posting affiliate links, referral codes, or external URLs in reviews.
- Using automated tools or bots to post content or engage with the platform.
- Creating fake accounts to boost engagement or reviews.
- Repeatedly posting the same content to game the algorithm.
- Sending unsolicited messages to other users for commercial purposes.
Businesses should use the official promotion tools to reach more users, not spam tactics.
4. Harassment, Abuse, and Hate Speech
Glymp has zero tolerance for:
- Bullying, intimidation, or threatening behavior toward any user or business.
- Hate speech targeting individuals or groups based on race, religion, caste, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality.
- Personal attacks, name-calling, or abusive language in reviews or comments.
- Doxxing (sharing someone's private information without consent).
- Sexual harassment or unsolicited explicit content.
- Encouraging violence or self-harm.
- Stalking or repeated unwanted contact.
This applies to all content: posts, reviews, comments, messages, and profile information.
5. Child Safety — Zero Tolerance
Glymp maintains an absolute, non-negotiable zero-tolerance policy for content that exploits or endangers children. The following are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination and reporting to law enforcement:
- Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) of any kind — this is a criminal offence under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and Section 67B of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
- Any content that sexualises, exploits, or endangers minors, including grooming behaviour, predatory communication, or solicitation of minors.
- Content depicting, promoting, or facilitating the trafficking, abuse, or endangerment of children.
- Sharing, distributing, or linking to CSAM or content that sexualises minors, regardless of claimed artistic or educational intent.
We report all CSAM and child exploitation content to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) and relevant law enforcement without delay. Such content will be actioned within 36 hours of detection or receipt of a credible report, as required under the IT Rules 2021. There is no appeals process for CSAM-related bans.
6. Business Conduct
✅ Good Business Practices
- Keep your listing information accurate and up-to-date (hours, address, menu, pricing).
- Respond to customer reviews professionally — even negative ones.
- Use genuine photos of your actual products. No downloaded or fake imagery.
- Clearly label sponsored or promotional content.
- Honor prices and offers displayed on your listing.
❌ Business Misconduct
- Posting fake reviews for your own business or against competitors.
- Offering incentives for positive reviews without disclosure.
- Listing products or services you don't actually offer.
- Using misleading pricing (showing lower prices that don't reflect actual costs).
- Impersonating another business or brand.
- Threatening or pressuring users who leave negative reviews.
- Selling counterfeit, illegal, or regulated products without proper licensing.
Repeated violations will result in business account suspension and removal from the platform.

Not Permitted:

- Do not post fabricated health or safety claims.
- Do not mislead other users about discounts, offers, or product quality.
- Satire and humor are fine, but must be clearly identifiable as such.
10. Enforcement Actions
We take a progressive approach to enforcement:
| Action | When It Applies |
|---|---|
| Emergency Takedown | Content involving child safety (CSAM), imminent violence, or ongoing criminal activity is removed within 36 hours of a credible report, as required under IT Rules 2021. Account is immediately suspended pending investigation. |
| Content Removal | Violating content is removed. You'll be notified with the reason within 24 calendar hours. |
| Warning | First-time or minor violations get a warning with guidance on what went wrong. |
| Temporary Suspension | Repeated violations result in a 7–30 calendar day account suspension. |
| Feature Restriction | Specific features (posting, reviewing) may be disabled. |
| Permanent Ban | Severe or repeated violations result in permanent account termination. |
| Legal Action | In cases of illegal activity, fraud, or defamation, we may refer the matter to law enforcement and/or initiate legal proceedings. |
You can appeal any non-emergency enforcement action by contacting our support team within 15 calendar days of the action. Emergency actions (CSAM, child safety, imminent harm) are not subject to reinstatement.
11. How to Report Violations
- Use the "Report" button on any post, review, comment, or profile.
- Provide as much detail as possible about the violation.
- Reports are reviewed within 24–48 hours. Emergency reports (CSAM, child safety, imminent violence) are actioned within 36 hours.
- Reporter identity is kept confidential.
- You can also email reports to khushal@glymp.app.
False or malicious reports may themselves result in action against the reporter.
